JOHANNESBURG - Cyril Ramaphosa was officially elected as South Africa&39;s fifth democratically elected state president on Thursday. 

The National Assembly voted unanimously for his appointment as the next president, following former president Jacob Zuma&39;s resignation on Wednesday.

Ramaphosa is set to deliver his first State of the Nation Address (Sona) in Parliament on Friday evening.
