Durban, 1 October 2015 - The head of the Hawks has dismissed allegations that Johan Booysen is being targeted by senior police officers.

DURBAN - ,The Hawks head, Berning Ntlemeza, has dismissed allegations that senior police officers are targeting Johan Booysen.

Booysen approached the KwaZulu-Natal High Court to have his suspension set aside.

Booysen believes he&39;s being targeted because he&39;s investigating alleged corruption involving high-ranking SAPS officers, including the provincial police commissioner.

Ntlemeza has denied Booysen’s claims his suspension is an abuse of power or an attempt to thwart any high-level investigations. He maintains that at no point did Booysen even hint that he was investigating the provincial police commissioner.

Discussing his responding affidavit, Ntlemeza said, “These court documents are in stark contrast to Johan Booysen’s version of events about his suspension.

"They classify the misconduct allegations as &39;serious&39; and label Booysen’s claims against Ntlemeza as &39;far-fetched&39; and &39;wholly untenable&39;."
