JOHANNESBURG - Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha is seeking legal advice on Oscar Pistorius’s planned release on probation.

The Minister was responding to a petition from a rights group on Tuesday.

The group want him to block Pistorius’s release during Women’s Month.

Masutha says he needs to know if the release is lawful – and whether he has the legal power to intervene.

He says he is concerned that if Pistorius’s release isn&39;t legally sound, it will create a negative precedent.
