JOHANNESBURG - The motive behind the massacre of two KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) families over the past few days has authorities stumped.

Five relatives were gunned down on Thursday night in Nteke, Marianhill.

This after eight family members, some of whom were children, were killed in Greytown on Tuesday.

According to Kwanele Ncalane, KZN Community Safety Spokesperson, "Whether these incidents are related or not their criminality and they have to be dealt with as such, therefore we will also be able to communicate with the nation once police made a breakthrough in one of the cases whether the two are linked or not."
