JOHANNESBURG - EFF leader Julius Malema has told Soweto residents not to allow President Jacob Zuma to defy the constitution.

Malema was addressing a community meeting in Meadowlands on Thursday night.

The EFF is building up to its election manifesto launch at the end of this month.

Malema has reiterated his call for Zuma to step down, saying the constitution cannot be compromised.

“I don’t care whether the constitution is protected by the DA, IFP, ANC -- I am fighting for the constitution," he said.

"As long as you protect the constitution, you are my friend. I love South Africa more than the EFF.

Malema will hold a series of community meetings around Soweto as part of the EFF&39;s bid to win this historic township in the upcoming local government elections.
