Manana extends apology to Cubana


File: Higher Education Deputy Minister Mduduzi Manana has apologised to the women.

JOHANNESBURG – Higher Education Deputy Minister Mduduzi Manana, has extended his apology to the staff of a Johannesburg hang-out at which he physically assaulted a woman on Sunday.

Manana has urged Cubana in Fourways to co-operate with officials investigating the incident.

There have been growing calls for his dismissal after he admitted to assaulting a fellow patron.

“The deputy minister wishes to apologise to Cubana as a business entity as well as to its management and staff for the unfortunate actions that involve him and his friends. He still maintains that things should not have reached the level they did and for that he continues to apologise unreservedly,” a statement from Manana said.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Fikile Mbalula says Manana is not above the law and will be arrested once police have concluded their investigation.
