Marikana activist's murder case postponed to December

RUSTENBURG – The case against Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) councillor Napoleon Webster and 13 others was postponed to December 8 at the North West High Court in Mmabatho on Wednesday.

The State alleges that Aubrey Seitsang, Sibonile Sobopha, Mdlondozi Fundiwo, Herbert Baqhesi, Webster, William Nyanyane, Aphindile Pungone, Samson Gqwetani, Gift Luveli, Nkululeko Msithwa, Nkosindiphile Nziyose, Luvo Soyizwaphi, Sivuyile Qasha and Mzolisi Mbulana hacked Sabata Petros Chale to death in Marikana West on December 8, 2016.

They allegedly drank his blood after killing him.

Aubrey Seitsang, Sibonile Sobopha, Mdlondozi Fundiwo, Herbert Baqhesi and William Nyanyane were remanded in custody.

Webster, a well-known activist, was released on R3,000 bail and Aphindile Pungone was granted R2,000 bail.

The others were released on R5,000 bail.
