JOHANNESBURG - The Thabo Mbeki Foundation has welcomed the ANC&39;s decision to recall President Jacob Zuma.

The foundation says the move is in the country&39;s best interests because, among other reasons, Zuma faces the possibility of prosecution.

It&39;s also called on Zuma to tender his resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly.

A number of other organisations have also welcomed the news.

Business Leadership South Africa says Zuma&39;s refusal to resign is nothing more than self-interest, and the ANC should act swiftly.

The SACP says recalling Zuma help resolve the many challenges facing the government.

The SA Federation of Trade Unions has condemned the ANC&39;s indecisiveness in moving against Zuma, and says the recall decision is long overdue.
