JOHANNESBURG – Former University of the Witwatersrand SRC President, Mcebo Dlamini, is due back in court on Tuesday.

Dlamini faces charges of theft, assault, public violence and malicious damage to property in connection with student fee protests.

Dlamini's lawyer, Dali Mpofu, says the charges against him are politically motivated, and have no substance.

The student activist spent three weeks in jail before being granted R2,000 bail on Wednesday.
