CAPE TOWN - Two Metrorail trains caught alight and burned at the Retreat Station in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon.

“ER24 paramedics, along with metro and fire services, arrived on the scene and found two trains a short distance away. Both trains were found well alight,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.

“Paramedics set out assessing the scene and found that, fortunately, no-one sustained any injuries.”

Fire services managed to extinguish the blaze before it spread. The cause of the fire was not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene to investigate, Meiring said.
