JOHANNESBURG - MiWay says it will take strong action against anyone using its brand to spread offensive and derogatory comments.
The insurance company's dismissed a racist email -- allegedly written by an employee -- as bogus.
The email, supposedly from a MiWay employee, says the company plans to reject 90-percent of insurance claims submitted by black clients.
It labels black people as easy targets.
The email has been circulating on social media, with many reacting with outrage.
The company said the email is fake, pinning the blame on a disgruntled client.
The matter is with forensic investigators and they're handling the matter. We're equally gutted by the nature of the message sent out.— MiWay Insurance (@miwayinsurance) July 21, 2017
