Mokonyane mum on water affairs

CAPE TOWN - Newly-appointed communications minister Nomvula Mokonyane has refused to answer questions about her previous position.

She’s refused to answer questions relating to the department of water affairs and sanitation during her post-cabinet media briefing on Thursday morning.

The Standing Committee on public accounts has accused her of collapsing the department.

Its coffers are bankrupt after racking over R4-billion in debt.

Scopa has further called for a full inquiry and charges to be laid against Mokonyane.
