JOHANNESBURG - The Patriotic Alliance has pulled out of its pact with the Democratic Alliance.

The party had wanted its councillor Marlon Daniels to fill the position of deputy mayor.

The post is vacant due to the ousting of the UDM's Mongameli Bobani at last month's council meeting.

The DA, which currently controls the council, has said it won't be blackmailed.

The High Court had struck Mongameli's Bobani's reinstatement application off the roll.

The DA then undertook in the High Court not to put the position on the Council agenda.
