JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng&39;s suspended Health HOD is back on the stand for a third day at the Life Esidimeni arbitration hearings.

Dr Barney Selebano approved the transfer of Life Esidimeni patients to unregistered NGOs where over 140 of them died.

Selebano admits that he failed to stop the transfer because he was too scared to challenge his boss, the former Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu.

It has also been revealed that while government plotted the transfer of patients, R20-million was set aside to plan new psychiatric facilities.

Selebano has admitted mistakes were made.

"We did things the wrong way, terribly wrong," said Selebano.

"We should have listened to other people."
