CAPE TOWN - The deadlock between the Social Security Agency (Sassa) and the Post Office has been resolved.

That&39;s according to the Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe.

But a deal for the roll-out has yet to be finalised.

The organisations have agreed to a hybrid system to pay social grants to millions of beneficiaries.

Radebe says an agreement will be signed next Friday, in consultation with the Banking Association of South Africa.

MPs meanwhile remain sceptical and want consequences for the endless delays.

According to a Constitutional Court ruling, Sassa has to take over the payment of social grants from Cash Paymaster Services from April next year.
