NEA pledges support to Gordhan

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan dismissed the fraud charges laid against him this week as frivolous and insisted they would not distract him from his job.

JOHANNESBURG - The National Employers Association is the latest grouping to pledge support for the Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

The association represents close to 15,000 businesses and individuals.

It joins at least 81 business leaders and CEOs who signed a pledge earlier this week.

The group says it stands for inclusive economic growth and job creation, enabled by a stable regulatory framework.

Gordhan is facing fraud charges and is expected to deliver his medium-term budget in Parliament on Wednesday.
