JOHANNESBURG – The Nelson Mandela Children’s hospital has denied reports that it is financially constrained.
The facility, which specifically focuses on specialised treatement for children, was opened nine months ago.
According to reports, some sections of the hospital had not yet opened because of a financial shortfall.
Government said it made a commitment to give the hospital R600-million, but only in instalments over a 3-year period.
The facility has an estimated running cost of R500-million a year.
