Nephew charged with aunt's murder, dismemberment

PORT SHEPSTONE – An uMzumbe family have been torn apart by the gruesome murder of one of their own, allegedly by a 19-year-old family member.

He has already appeared in court and was charged with murder.

The victim, Ntombilezi Mhlongo, was attacked and killed on Saturday evening in uMzumbe village on the North Coast.

Her torso was discovered by a neighbour the following day, wrapped in plastic. It was dumped under a tree near her home, with some body parts missing.

The teenager's father turned him in to the authorities.

The family have since left the area and neighbours say they do not know where they have moved to.
