NMB service delivery threatened by EFF actions: Trollip

The DA's mayoral candidate for Nelson Mandela Bay, Athol Trollip, campaigns in Diepkloof, Soweto ahead of teh 2016 municipal elections taking place on 3 August 2016.

JOHANNESBURG - Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor, Athol Trollip, said the EFF&39;s move to unseat him will affect service delivery and threaten economic growth.

The EFF has threatened to table a no-confidence motion against Trollip next month.

The mayor said the EFF and ANC are power hungry populists who are more interested in lining their pockets than delivering services to the people.

Trollip said if he is forced to leave, around R200-million of service delivery projects will grind to a halt.

He says the DA-led coalition in the city was ready to face any challenges.
