No ANC leadership changes, for now

PRETORIA - The ANC's National Executive Committee is meeting this weekend.

It says its branches have already rejected the idea of an early elective conference.

The calls were made by the Youth League and the Communist Party following the local government elections.

President Jacob Zuma’s leadership of the party is likely to be discussed.

The violent protests that have rocked universities across the country are expected to be high on the agenda.

The ANC has dismissed continued rumours of an imminent cabinet reshuffle.
