JOHANNESBURG - Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande says he&39;s eager to settle the university fees issue once and for all.
He says a decision on the matter should be reached by the end of August.
The Minister&39;s statement comes barely a day after the ANC said there should be no fee increases until all consultations are finalised.
Meanwhile students say they are on the brink of launching mass action to once again fight for affordable higher education.
Students took to the streets at the University of Johannesburg&39;s Doorfontein campus on Monday.
A number of high school students also joined in the demonstrations.
The University of KwaZulu-Natal&39;s Pietermaritzburg campus suspended classes.
That is after overnight protests continued on Monday morning.
Academic activities are expected to resume on Wednesday.
