Johannesburg, 12 May 2016 - The picture showing black people being transported to a Democratic Alliance rally on the back of a cattle truck is legit. So says the man who took the picture and an image expert we spoke to.

JOHANNESBURG - The DA says it will release the findings of its probe into a picture showing black people being transported to a party rally on the back of a cattle truck.

eNCA revealed that the photos were taken by a community activist and expelled EFF member in Prieska in the Northern Cape on the 27th of April.

He alleges that the people were being transported to a Freedom Day rally and were being paid to do so.

Photographic experts believe the images are authentic, while analysts argue that the debacle could hurt the DA ahead of the elections.

The image went viral on social media last month, sparking further allegations of racism within the party.

Initially, the Democratic Alliance challenged the authenticity of the photographs, but now says it&39;s appalled by the images  and will release a report soon.
