A car trapped under scaffolding following a bridge collapse near Grayston Drive in Sandton.
JOHANNESBURG – Sandton was brought to a standstill on Wednesday night after a temporary bridge erected over the M1 near Grayston Drive collapsed.
Three people died and several more were critically injured.
Shares of Murray & Roberts, the company responsible for constructing the bridge, plummeted after news of the collapse.
Johannesburg mayor Parks Tau said the city investigate the incident.
