JOHANNESBURG - Jailed Paralympian Oscar Pistorius has applied to the Constitutional Court to appeal his 13-year sentence for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius&39;s sentence was increased in November from six years to an effective 13 years, following an appeal by the National Prosecuting Authority.

He was initially found guilty of culpable homicide but this was changed to murder by the Supreme Court of Appeal in December 2015.
