PIETERMARITZBURG - ANC Women’s League President Bathabile Dlamini believes there are coordinated efforts to weaken the ANC ahead of the local government elections.

Dlamini says attacks on members are being carried out to intimidate communities not to vote for the governing party.

She addressed mourners at the funeral of two party members in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

They were murdered while returning from a meeting.

At least seven ANC members have been killed in KwaZulu-Natal in the past two months.

“We also feels that the violence is brought to us so as to instil more fear in communities," said Dlamini.
