President Jacob Zuma meets with South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir


President Jacob Zuma welcomes his counterpart President Salva Kiir of the Republic of South Sudan during their meeting in Pretoria on Friday 2 December 2016.

JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma hosted South Sudanese President Salva Kiir in Pretoria on Friday.

The heads of state reviewed bilateral cooperation between their countries.

This follows Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa's engagement with President Kiir on Thursday.

Ramaphosa is part of a special envoy to the region, and says he’s satisfied peace is finally prevailing in the country, which has been riddled with conflict.

South Africa has been instrumental in negotiating a peace deal in South Sudan.
