JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma is expected to deliver his keynote address at the Energy Indaba in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The Indaba is facing mounting criticism from several activists.

At least 23 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have written to Energy Minister David Mahlobo to ask about the purpose of the event.

Environmental and rights groups say the meeting appears to have ulterior motives.

They’re also accusing the minister of attempting to fast track the nuclear build programme.
