Cape Town - Masixole Mlandu got a rude awakening this weekend when he was locked out of his UCT res room. The 24-year-old final-year Political Science student was part of a group that occupied the universitys Bremner building last week.

CAPE TOWN - Some University of Cape Town students involved in protests have been banned from campus.

Students from the Rhodes Must Fall movement who violated a court interdict have been suspended, expelled and now evicted.

In a statement, vice-chancellor Max Price said the breach by interdicted students warranted their immediate arrest.

For some this could mean the end of their academic careers.
