The Gauteng Education Department says more parents and pupils are reporting incidents of bullying.

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng&39;s education department says more parents and pupils are reporting incidents of bullying.

This after a video of a pupil being violently beaten went viral.

The department said it has mechanisms in place to deal with bullying at schools, but not everyone agrees.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said bullying at schools are being addressed.

“We have a life orientation trainer for every grade and we have anti-bullying as part of our subject, in terms of Life Orientation.

"So if something of this nature happens, it really leaves me hurt.”

The education department will visit Krugerlaan School on Wednesday and said those responsible will be dealt with.
