Cape Town – Khayelitsha residents are complaining about state-provided toilets in their area.
Residents claim these mobile toilets pose serious health risks, they are too far from their homes and they are not safe for public use.
A local woman claims she was raped while walking towards these toilets.
“My wish is that we will get proper toilets. I am happy to be alive after what happened, but we are not safe,” said the 47-year-old woman.
The City of Cape Town has promised to investigate residents’ concerns.
