JOHANNESBURG - South Africans won&39;t be facing water cuts over the festive season.

The South African Local Government Association has met with the parliamentary Portfolio Committees on Water and Sanitation, and Cooperative Governance.

They&39;re trying to find a solution to the outstanding debt by municipalities across the country.

This follows recent threats to cut off water to 30 defaulting local bodies.

At the meeting, it was agreed all parties must submit plans to deal with the problem.

The committees will meet again in January.
