File: The SABC has denied that there was any ulterior motive to canning the Sunday morning show, The Editors.

JOHANNESBURG - Suspended SABC journalists are reportedly taking the public broadcaster to the Constitutional Court.

The Independent Online reports that the staffers are turning to the highest court over the decision to temporarily remove them from their posts.

This is after they challenged SABC boss Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s order not to cover violent protests.

Reporters were also told not to report on a Right-to-Know anti-censorship demonstration.

But Economics Editor Thandeka Gqubule, Executive Producer Foeta Krige and Senior Journalist Suna Venter disagreed with the decision.

They were suspended after a hearing.
