Tense stand-off between students, police at DUT

Officers have give Durban University of Technology students a few minutes to disperse.

DURBAN – Lectures were suspended at all four Durban University of Technology (DUT) campuses after protests over fee hikes broke out on Monday.

Despite this, protesters have gathered outside one of the residences. They&39;ve now added calls for free sanitary towels for women, to their list of demands.

 

 

Police are monitoring the situation and have warned students not to resort to violence.
