JOHANNESBURG - Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu may be discharged from hospital within a few days.

He underwent minor investigative surgery on Friday after battling an infection for some time.

Tutu has been on treatment since Tuesday, his second hospital visit within a month.

He had been under doctors' watch for a persistent infection and had undergone intravenous anti-biotic treatment.

His doctors say they are satisfied he's responding well to treatment.

Former President Thabo Mbeki visited Tutu at the hospital, a day before his surgery.

eNCA's Lester Kiewit interviewed Tutu's daughter, Mpho, about her father's health. Watch the video for the full interview.
