JOHANNESBURG - Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu may be discharged from hospital within a few days.

He underwent minor investigative surgery on Friday after battling an infection for some time.

Tutu has been on treatment since Tuesday, his second hospital visit within a month.

He had been under doctors&39; watch for a persistent infection and had undergone intravenous anti-biotic treatment.

His doctors say they are satisfied he&39;s responding well to treatment.
