Two charged for assaulting UCT vice-chancellor

JOHANNESBURG - The University of Cape Town said has laid charges against two people who assaulted vice-chancellor Max Price.

Price was pushed, pulled and punched while consulting with protesters on Friday and was escorted away by police

Classes at the university resumed on Monday, with intense clashes between security personnel and protesting students on Tuesday.

UCT conceded that the detention of student Masixole Mlandu was hampering further negotiations with the Fees Must Fall protesters.
