Price was pushed, pulled and punched while consulting with protesters on Friday and was escorted away by police
Classes at the university resumed on Monday, with intense clashes between security personnel and protesting students on Tuesday.
UCT conceded that the detention of student Masixole Mlandu was hampering further negotiations with the Fees Must Fall protesters.
