Video evidence leads to arrest of JMPD officers

JOHANNESBURG - Two JMPD officers were arrested on Monday and will appear in Johannesburg magistrate's court on charges of corruption after video evidence emerged of the two taking money from motorists.

The video was shared on Twitter by activist Yusuf Ambramjee, who called for an investigation of the footage.

MMC for Public Safety in the City of Johannesburg, Michael Sun, stated that the two officers pictured were in the video were arrested and would be appearing in court on corruption charges.

It appeared that a bribe may have been received by the officers.
