UCT students call for readmission of suspended counterparts


CAPE TOWN, 06 September 2016 - The fees commission has decided to suspend proceedings, after students staged a demonstration. Police were called in to escort UCT Vice Chancellor Max Price from the building.?

CAPE TOWN - The Cape Town leg of the Fees Commission came to an abrupt halt on Tuesday.

The commission suspended proceedings, after students held a protest. They refused to budge, unless officials addressed their concerns.

There was a tense standoff between students and UCT Vice-Chancellor Max Price.

Students were intent on preventing him from leaving the building.

They want students suspended over the Feesmustfal- related protests to be allowed to return to campus.
