The review by y international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills also confirmed the company used social media to advance its campaign, but it didn't find evidence of twitter bots.

According to the report, 'White monopoly capital', a term used by alleged Gupta supporters, was not coined by Bell Pottinger.

The report says the firm's work breached several ethical principles, including taking steps which might undermine journalists asking questions about the campaign.

The review states that senior management didn't know about the work being done.
