CAPE TOWN - Newly-appointed Deputy President David Mabuza says he’s waiting on President Cyril Ramaphosa to assign him duties.

The ANC deputy president and former Mpumalanga premier is now the country’s second-in-command.

Mabuza was sworn in on Tuesday.

Ramaphosa's deputy said he'll be next to the president to assist him.

Meanwhile, the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) has raised concerns about Mabuza's appointment.

In a statement, the organisation said Mabuza's appointment posed a threat to the struggle against HIV and TB in the country.
