JOHANNESBURG - Vodacom is blaming a system glitch for customers' data and airtime being depleted.
Frustrated customers complained about data and airtime disappearing late last night.
The company has apologised and says clients are already being refunded.
According to Byron Kennedy, Vodacom spokesperson, "There was a configuration change in our billing system that ended up to be problematic. We rolled back a particular process to remedy the problem. We have refunded the vast majority of our customers. The team is reinstating the data bundles that were impacted. We hoping to have all this resolved during the course of this morning."
However, social media users are not impressed, and numerous people have posted about the implications of not having data they paid for, such as those looking for work or bursaries.
