Gordhan gives thanks

JOHANNESBURG - Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan sent a thank-you letter from himself and his family to the assembly of the Save South Africa campaign against state capture in Pretoria on Wednesday.

Gordhan wrote that he is a son of the congress movement, the African National Congress and the congress alliance.

“I was taught the values of democracy and social justice in the Freedom Charter.”

Gordhan added that we as a country still have ways to go in the pursuit of unity as a nation.

“We have made tremendous progress in all aspects as a young democracy.”

He quoted Nelson Mandela as he wrote, “I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.

The minister's letter was read out by Bishop Allan Kannemeyer during the assembly.
