JOHANNESBURG - Estate agent Vicky Momberg is facing charges over her racist rant against black police officers, who tried to help her.

Footage captured four-months ago, shows Momberg in the immediate aftermath of a smash-and grab in Northriding, Johannesburg.

She uses the K-word, and calls the city&39;s black police officers arrogant, useless and clueless.

Momberg says she was traumatised after the incident, and has declined to comment further.

She says she&39;s surprised that eNCA flighted this video, given that it was captured just after she had been targeted in a smash and grab incident.

Momberg, an estate agent from Durban, says she&39;s consulting her lawyers over the video.

The police, meanwhile, have confirmed they&39;ve laid a charge of crimen injuria against her, a charge defined as a wilful injury to someone’s dignity, caused by the use of obscene or racially offensive language or gestures.

"We cannot have this type of thing in a democratic society,” said Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane.

Phalane has also commended the conduct of the officers who dealt with Momberg.

Momberg has declined to comment any further on her conduct.
