Yende's murder accused gets bail

JOHANNESBURG - The man accused of killing Eskom employee Thembisile Yende has been granted bail.

David Ngwenya was granted R15,000 bail on Thursday after spending six months in jail.

Yende’s body was found at an Eskom station in Springs, on the East Rand, after her family had reported her missing.

As part of his bail conditions, Ngwenya has to surrender his passport and report to a local police station twice a week.

His lawyer, Zola Majavu, said the matter had been argued two weeks ago in the North Gauteng high court and judgment reserved until Thursday morning.
