9 March 2015 - A group of youngsters in a Gauteng township are determined to get their community to read.

RANDFONTEIN - A group of youngsters in Mohlakeng has turned a bedroom into a public library to get their community reading.

The idea was conceived after the local library was torched during a service delivery protest.  The group collected books from neighbours, schools and churches.

Their library is now stocked with textbooks, novels and even magazines.

“We understood the loss and how it would affect the young people.

“The kids are already growing in numbers and we need to have a variety of books," said Neo Mathetsa, library chairperson.
