PRETORIA - President Jacob Zuma has broken his silence following the removal of Nhlanhla Nene as Finance Minister.

Zuma says the appointment of David van Rooyen does NOT signal a change in government’s fiscal stance.

Zuma says Nene has been nominated to head the African Regional Centre of the new Brics bank.

The economic cluster will meet on Tuesday to prepare for a special cabinet meeting on the economy, scheduled for next Friday.
