CAPE TOWN - Ajax Cape Town have confirmed that Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris will spend a week on trial with Ajax Amsterdam, following a run of consistently good form for the club in recent months.
Head coach Roger De Sa will be accompanying the young players to De Toekomst and will observe some of the methods used by his counterpart, Frank De Boer, at Ajax Amsterdam.
De Sa has been in charge of Ajax CT for the past two seasons, securing a Top 5 finish at the end of the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season, while also reaching the 2014/15 Nedbank Cup finals and winning the 2015/16 MTN8 trophy.
In recent times, Rivaldo Coetzee, Brandon Petersen and Yagan Sasman have spent time training with De Boer at Ajax Amsterdam, where they were highly rated and have been continuously monitored, as they progress further in their careers.
Players to have made the big transfer from Ajax Cape Town to Ajax Amsterdam in the past include Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen, Eyong Enoh and most recently Thulani Serero.
The club wished Mobara and Morris all of the best travelling abroad and making their dream of playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs a reality.
