Inquiry into Sascoc allegations starts on Monday

JOHANNESBURG - The long-awaited committee of inquiry into allegations of improper governance at Sascoc, the SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, is set to commence on Monday at the Ellis Park Stadium auditorium in Johannesburg.

The inquiry is a response to numerous and serious allegations of poor governance, financial mismanagement and non-adherence to the Sascoc constitution – and the failure of its board to respond adequately to the sports minister on the allegations.

Retired judge Ralph Zulman will lead the committee, which will also include cricket administrator Ali Bacher and labour law specialist Shamima Gaibie.
