DURBAN - Australia defeated South Africa by 118 runs to win the first Test at Kingsmead on Monday.

South African resistance on the final day lasted just over a quarter of an hour before Josh Hazlewood claimed the final wicket when he had Quinton de Kock, on 83, out lbw with the hosts dismissed for 298.

Result: Australia won by 118 runs
