JOHANNESBURG- South Africa’s Sports Ministry has given the Premier Soccer League the green-light to resume under strict Level 3 conditions.
Health authorities recommend that the measures the PSL puts in place meet and some instances exceed the required protocols for training and games.
The news comes on the back of new infections reported in South Africa's top-flight football league.
On Tuesday, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs confirmed two coronavirus cases.
Earlier this week, Bloemfontein Celtic's Given Mashikinya, tested positive for COVID-19.
Orlando Pirates announced that Ben Motshwari tested positive in May and the central midfielder has since recovered.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the PSL is now seven.
The current season has been suspended since mid-March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
