CAPE TOWN – The Connect Rugby Academy is committed to transformation in sport at grassroots level.

They conduct a rugby programme in Khayelitsha, where they provide underprivileged kids with opportunities in and outside of the game.

eNCA sports reporter Justin Ford had a behind-the-scenes look at this initiative in the Western Cape.

Up to 80 children from Khayelitsha are part of the programme, which aims not only to transform the sport of rugby, but their minds and lifestyles as well.

“We keep saying and harping on about the fact that for us transformation is about access to resources and opportunities. And what I mean by that is we really looking to level the playing field in terms of access to opportunities,” said Connect co-founder Murray Ingram.
